Camp NaNoWriMo
So, I made it to 40,000 words on my pre-NaNoWriMo novel last month. Not a full novel, not as much as I hoped to accomplish word-wise, but seriously… I learned so much that it didn’t matter. Not one bit. I got in there, created a world, delved into my characters, discovered a lot about plotting that I hadn’t understood before. It was fantastic. It really, really made me think hard about my idea to do a book a month for the next year. I figure I could write a novel one month, rewrite it the next. Talk about attending your very own Novel University!
This month is the official NaNoWriMo, beginning today. And, since my schedule has opened up for November, I’ve decided to be a pure glutton for punishment and do another novel this month. Holy crap. So if you don’t see me around here much, you’ll know why.

I’ve decided not to do Nano this year, I’m undertaking a little project of my own instead. If it all works out, I’ll be starting my own Nano novel month in January.
But, I wish you good luck. A book a month for a year sounds like a big challenge. But, exciting too. God speed, Shanna!!

I broke down yesterday and signed up – I’ve got 125 words last night. I’ve never tried this before – should be damn interesting. Oh, I’ve started novels, but never tried nanowrimo – and everytime I type that I think of Robin Williams – nanu nanu (sorry, I’m of a certain age…)
